WATCH: “A Whole System Response: Healthcare Holds the Key”
Our animation was developed in collaboration with survivors of domestic abuse.
It highlights the key role healthcare professionals can play in supporting survivors.
ABOUT
The NHS has more contact with those experiencing domestic abuse and those perpetrating it than any other service.*
And 80% of domestic abuse victim-survivors will have their first or only point of contact-support in a healthcare setting.**
The Survivor Pledges have been co-produced by Standing Together in collaboration with the Survivor Network and Children and Young People Recommendation Workshops.
They are intended to provide an action-forward framework for healthcare professionals to consider the needs and experiences of domestic abuse victim-survivors in their practice.
By taking a Survivor Pledge as a healthcare professional, you commit to adopting a survivor-informed and trauma-informed practice.

Valuing people and working to their strengths.
Developing networks that operate across silos.
Focusing on what matters for the people involved.
Building relationships of trust and shared power.
Enabling people to be change makers.
