Equity, diversity and inclusion
STADA adopts an intersectional feminist perspective. We want to see cultures of discrimination and abuse eradicated from domestic abuse services, and replaced by a holistic model of connected, tailored services which meet the specific needs of victims and survivors from all backgrounds and communities. By-and-for services are absolutely vital to realise this vision.
An effective CCR depends on an intersectional approach and our work spans many of these areas. Our housing team works with women experiencing multiple disadvantage to bridge the gap between homelessness, VAWG and DA services via the Housing First and Homelessness Project. STADA also leads the Faith and VAWG Coalition and works in a number of areas to address and understand health inequalities. We are a signatory to the VAWG anti-racism charter (see below) to address racism in the VAWG sector. We will continue to articulate the need for long-term, sustainable funding for by-and-for services to deliver truly intersectional DA services.
