Statement—Looking Ahead: Sustaining Health-Led Responses to Domestic Abuse
The Whole Health project has through its commissioned services grants and the Crossing Pathways network meetings demonstrated how embedding a Coordinated Health Response to domestic abuse within health systems, improves outcomes, and reduces long-term costs.
Through survivor-led practice, specialist roles, and health sector partnerships, we’ve seen meaningful change across services.
While the Home Office funding for our Whole Health Project has come to an end, we remain proud of what has been achieved through the Crossing Pathways programme and the national momentum it has helped generate.
Sustainable funding is key to build on the progress of this three year project, and we remain committed to embedding learning and supporting health systems to respond more effectively to domestic abuse. We are working on further development of our Pathways to Safety Health Accreditation model.
“Our work within health and supporting system change continues. We know the difference this project makes, and we are determined to keep going, collaborating with survivors and health professionals who believe in what we have built.”
— Jackie Hyland, Executive Director of Health, STADA
We are grateful to all our partners, commissioned services, survivors, and health professionals who have contributed. Together, we’ll continue working towards a future where every victim and survivor receives a robust and safe response from health
