Faith & Community Programme Project Officer
Are you passionate about feminism and working to end violence against women and girls? Do you have an interest in faith, culture and politics? If you are motivated and keen to make a difference to survivors of domestic abuse and gender based violence then consider applying for the post of Project Officer. We are looking for an organised person who is able to work independently as well as alongside the Community Programme Manager and within a team.
Standing Together hosts the Faith and Community Programme which incorporates the Safety Across Faith & Ethnic (SAFE) Communities project and the Faith and VAWG Coalition as well as co-chairing the Harmful Practices Operational Group. The aim is to ensure that domestic abuse and violence against women and girls are tackled holistically by targeting support to and building trust with communities facing barriers to support and tackling intersecting oppressions.
You should have strong organisational and communication skills and an interest in inter sectional feminism, faith and ‘race’. Ideally you will have an understanding of the complex spaces survivors and communities of faith and minoritised people inhabit and navigate in fighting against misogyny, racism and other forms of structural oppression. This post will support the Faith & Community Programme Manager to empower communities to be a part of the coordinated community response to domestic abuse and build better understanding of the needs of survivors and their communities so that they are better met by policy makers and specialist services.
Initially this post will be home based due to the COVID19 pandemic but following this the post will be based in Standing Together offices in West London.
