Are you an intersectional anti-racist feminist who believes everyone has a role to play in ending violence against women and girls? Do you recognise the various levels of structural oppression and are not afraid to use your compassion to call them out? Standing Together is recruiting for a manager to lead its work on collaborating with and supporting communities in being an integral part of the Coordinated Community Response to domestic abuse and violence against women and girls in general.
Standing Together hosts the Faith and Community Programme which incorporates the Safety Across Faith & Ethnic (SAFE) Communities project and the Faith and VAWG Coalition as well as co-chairing the Harmful Practices Operational Group. The aim is to ensure that domestic abuse and violence against women and girls are tackled holistically by targeting support to and building trust with communities facing barriers to support and tackling intersecting oppressions.
You will or have the capability to be an inspiring communicator with a clear analysis of the dynamics of power, its structures and the lived experience of faith and minoritised communities in the UK. You will lead a small team of passionate and expert feminists towards systemic change in the response to domestic abuse and VAWG, one that centres the most disadvantaged and least likely to access resources. You will be a natural collaborator and have the capacity to turn ideas into successful intersectional vehicles of transformative change. You will have an excellent grasp of faith literacy and understand its power for social justice and end violence against women and girls.
