DAHA Accreditation for Homelessness and Supported Accommodation Organisations

The DAHA (Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance) Accreditation for Homelessness & Supported Accommodation Organisations is a comprehensive framework developed to set the standard for responding to domestic abuse and supporting those experiencing multiple disadvantage in the sector. Initiated in 2021 with funding from MOPAC, this framework was refined in collaboration with leading pilot partners: Society of St James, The Outside Project and Single Homeless Project and was finalised in October 2023.

Designed specifically for homelessness and supported accommodation services, the DAHA framework focuses on three core areas:

1. Infrastructure: Establishes essential policies, procedures, staff training, and monitoring practices to lay the foundation for effective domestic abuse response.

2. Coordination: Enhances partnership working and communication both within the organisation and with external multi-agency professionals.

3. Response: Provides guidance on direct response measures, including risk management for survivors and perpetrators, and safe practices for working with couples in homelessness settings.

Accreditation takes approximately 12-18 months, with support from our expert Accreditation team throughout the process. Members of the DAHA network work individually on their accreditation while participating in a Best Practice Network every other month, sharing insights and fostering a community dedicated to prioritising domestic abuse.
