Celebrating 25 years of Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse

11 October 2026 marks 25 years since the charity was founded. This is a significant milestone, and over the next 12 months we will be reflecting on and celebrating everything that has been achieved through the collective efforts of survivors, practitioners, partners, supporters, and communities.

We will be sharing stories, reflections, milestones, and highlights from the past 25 years, while also looking firmly to the future.

Our vision remains clear:

A world where domestic abuse and all forms of violence against women and girls simply do not happen.

Until that vision becomes a reality, we will continue working together towards:

  • A world where survivors are believed, supported, and empowered to rebuild their lives.
  • A world where perpetrators are held accountable and harmful behaviours are challenged and changed.
  • A world where structural inequalities that enable abuse are dismantled.
  • A world where every sector, service, community, and individual takes responsibility for ending domestic abuse.

For 25 years, we have championed the Coordinated Community Response (CCR) as the most effective approach to tackling domestic abuse. Looking ahead, our ambition is to see every area across the UK adopt and embed the CCR to:

  1. Keep survivors and their families safe.
  2. Hold perpetrators to account and support meaningful behaviour change.
  3. Prevent domestic abuse and violence against women and girls before it occurs.
  4. Create the conditions for lasting systemic change that will ultimately end domestic abuse.

As we celebrate our past, we remain focused on the future. Together, we can build safer communities, strengthen collective responsibility, and create a society where everyone can live free from abuse.
