Domestic Abuse and Sexual Safety Programme

Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse co-located Domestic Abuse and Sexual Safety(DASS) Coordinator with NHS Cheshire and Merseyside

Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse today publishes it’s report detailing the domestic abuse and sexual safety (DASS) programme. Commissioned by Cheshire and Merseyside ICB for 12 months, the projects aims included improving the identification and response to colleagues across the health system affected by domestic abuse and sexual misconduct, embedding an allies network and mapping services and support and working collaboratively on policies and processes across the Integrated Care System.

The project benefitted from the expertise and knowledge of a specialist DASS coordinator and health data and impact analyst. Employed by STADA and benefitting from the wider organisation expertise in health responses, coordinated community response, survivor voice and data leads the coordinator was co-located in the ICB allowing strong relationships to form and shared understanding to underpin the programme.

As the project developed against a back drop of significant changes and pressures within health systems and specifically for ICB’s the value of an independent coordinator who could help to maintain momentum, specialist focus and provide invaluable resource was apparent and acknowledged by ICB leads.

Whilst this summary report only offers a snapshot of the work completed we are happy to discuss the programme, the work, learning and outcomes so please do not hesitate to contact us.
