Pathways to Safety

Pathways to Safety Accreditation is a framework for health providers to strengthen and formalise their response to domestic abuse, building consistent, effective practice across their organisation.

The framework covers 9 practice areas, examining how an organisation operates and delivers interventions in domestic abuse. It builds in the processes staff need to adequately address the needs of survivors and hold abusers to account.

Organisations work progressively through three tiers of accreditation. Within each tier, practice areas are broken down into elements, and Trusts and ICS organisations must demonstrate they meet all 5 elements across all 9 practice areas to achieve accreditation.
